Plastic and Ovens don’t mix
Okay so we did a nice fish dish the other night, which I’m assuming Atty will review shortly. Anyways we stored it in our new expensive, pretty, life time guarenteed tupperware. So today I went to heat up the leftovers for dinner. In our shiney new oven. Did you know that plastic is not oven safe? Oops. Fortunately I caught it early enough that it only destroyed the tupperware. I really did think it was oven safe, not sure what I was thinking. I know it is microwave safe so that is probably what I was really thinking. Oh well, it was an expensive lesson, but on the plus side it was one of the pieces we got basically free because he discounted the set of 4 enough that we decided to get it, and it was the one piece we really didn’t have a use for.
Now we will never again mention my ability to melt plastic in the oven while reheating leftovers :p.
